IPP Early Career Theory Fellowship

The Institute of Particle Physics Early Career Theory Fellowship is designed to enable outstanding theory PhD students and postdocs to be present for a period between two weeks and six months at an international university, laboratory, or institute. The purpose of the fellowship is to encourage scientific collaboration between theorists in Canada and those abroad on projects that contribute to the scientific program of the IPP, and to enhance the career prospects of the junior researcher. A final report is required to be submitted upon completion of the fellowship which details the work done during the fellowship.

The application deadline for the 2022-2023 program is Jan 16, 2023. Applications submitted at a later date will be considered subject to availability of funds.

Reporting Requirement

Successful applicants are required to submit a 1 page final report detailing the scientific activities of the fellowship. The report may be submitted as early as 1 week before the completion of the fellowship, or as late as one week following the completion of the fellowship.

Restrictions

COVID Related Postponement of Award

In the event of a disruption of normal academic activities (e.g., closure of university campus) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the start of fellowship may be postponed until Aug 31, 2023. After Aug 31, 2023, the applicant will need to re-apply.
